Simple Tomato Basil Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes, canned
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining. ( 10 min )
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. ( 1 min )
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer. ( 15 min )
- Toss drained pasta with sauce, adding pasta water if needed to loosen.
- Stir in fresh basil and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve topped with grated parmesan.
